<p>Namibia&apos;s expansive community conservancies are incentivized to allocate landscapes for ecological and wildlife preservation. To facilitate this, a compensatory mechanism is essential, and this certificate provides a means to fund a specified portion of the community landscape costs linked to preserving this invaluable set-aside land (see ‘Set Aside Area’ below). The Preservation Status score below reflects the extent to which communities adhere to the agreements, representing the percentage of the original set-aside land that remains intact and aligned with the agreement.</p>

<p>Conservation Fund of Namibia (CCFN) plays a vital role in supporting Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) efforts in Namibia. Established to create sustainable funding mechanisms, the CCFN is transitioning from donor dependence to a model of self-sufficiency. This ensures long-term support for conservancies and wildlife conservation in the country.</p><br/><p>The CCFN oversees Namibia&apos;s 86 community conservancies covering 16m HA, in which over 4 million hectares of land has been dedicated to wildlife preservation. CCFN Community Wildlife Landscape Project

<p> Each certificate funds a ranger from the local community for approximately a month. These rangers patrol and look after some of the last truly wild black rhinos left on earth which survive in some of the most rugged and inhospitable terrain in Africa.</p><br/><p> The adjacent ‘Project Health’ chart displays whether the overall rhino population is increasing, stable or decreasing in the rhino range area supported by this certificate program.  The vertical axis is omitted for security purposes.</p><br/><p> By plotting annual growth rates over time, this creates accountability by demonstrating whether your certificate investments associate with adequate protection and support for growing rhino populations across years.</p>
